Let's Break the Fast with Yom Kippur Break Fast Recipes

Rachel Heller
There are many important Jewish holidays such as Passover and Hanukkah. However, the most important Jewish holiday has to be Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur has to be the most important Jewish holiday because Yom Kippur is a day of fasting, forgiving, and forgiveness. Yom Kippur is a day to purify and cleanse our bodies and our minds. In addition, Yom Kippur is also call The Day of Atonement. On Yom Kippur, fasting lasts from sundown to sundown so this year I think that sundown is at between 6:30 and 7 in the evening. Fasting on Yom takes much will power because there is no eating or drinking the whole day. Therefore, I recommend not going outside all day because it will be hot and the heat will make you thirsty. Then, you will wish to drink water by the gallon which is not allowed. Therefore, prayer and self reflection indoors are the recommended activities to pass a Yom Kippur day. Also, I recommend eating a light meal for dinner before and after the fast because you don't want to feel overly hungry while fasting and you will not be able to eat as much after fasting because the stomach tends to shrink a bit after fasting. However, after a day of fasting everyone will be eager to break the fast as fast as possible; so I recommend a glass or two of tea or grape juice and using one or both of these Yom Kippur break fast recipes. This first Yom Kippur break fast recipes is ideal with bagels and lox.
