Let's Date a Hollywood Star...or Not

I suppose I should be thankful that my girlfriend is not an actress. Yes, the money would be great, and I am sure she would lavish me with gifts while we were an item, but that is the thing. Relationships with actresses never last long.

There is this weird thing about the entertainment industry; it kills relationships. Try as the parties may, it is not too long before some leading man or woman acts his or her way into the bedroom of your unsuspecting sweetie. Maybe it is the long hours rehearsing, or the sweaty sex scenes, either way, there is a whole lot of cheating going on in Hollywood.

Without going into specifics, think about the last time you heard about an onscreen couple becoming the real deal? Even though both actors may have had significant others at the time, they somehow ended up together. Did it really surprise you? Were you that amazed when married Madame Hot Body became enthralled with engaged Mr. Six Pack? Probably not.

The entertainment field has always been looked upon with a sense of marital disdain, but now, things seem to be at an all time low, as it is not that unusual for a leading man to hop from bed to bed with his leading, and not so leading, ladies.

That is not to say that these enterprising young women are being taken advantage of, or that they are somehow to blame. In truth, the roles have been almost completely reversed from those of yesteryear, as there few Male Megastars left, and a growing herd of female starlets trying to become the next Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Anniston, or Halle Berry.

In truth, while many of these starlets are looking for pure publicity, it seems that there are just as many of these young women looking for something real. The problem is that it is so easy to get caught up in the glitz and glamour of the bright lights of fame. After a while it just becomes business as usual. Do a movie. Date the Star. Rinse and Repeat.

By the time many of these starlets become hip to the game, they are a bit worse for wear, or their star has somehow fallen. Even those who make the jump from starlet to star do so with much misery and heartache, fore the road to Hollywood riches is paved by the hearts of those that could or should have been loved..
