Let's Look at Some Women in Politics! Sarah and Hillary!

John Lake
Some have endeavored to compare the down-home Alaskan Sarah Palin with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Sarah Palin is right up there with that wet-end and most impulsive John McCain when it comes to policy savvy. She hasn't a clue. Neither does he.
But Hillary Clinton might be a tad overrated. We recall her recent jaunt to North Korea. Hostile and aggressive North Korea that tests armaments in spite of loud and continuing objections from the world at large. Hillary had time to establish a "take" on the matter; she came up with, "the North Korean Government is like "small Children, unruly teenagers, and people who are demanding attention". She further delved into her extensive experience and recalled that the "rule of thumb" with small children is, when they want attention, "don't give them any!" I don't recall much of Dr. Spock, but he might take exception.
An anonymous North Korean official declared that Secretary of State Clinton is "by no means intelligent" and a "funny lady." "Sometimes she looks like a primary schoolgirl and sometimes a pensioner going shopping," This, friend, is not my conception of great diplomacy.
So Hubby Bill, Bless his soul, at his OWN EXPENSE (!) traveled to North Korea, and put things back in prospective.
My point? Maybe the lady is a scatter-brain.
Hillary Clinton we see has confirmed that "indirect talks" will soon begin on what is in fact the single most important crisis in the world -- at least that what Osama bin Laden say's. And he ought to know. That crisis is the volatile ongoing lack of tolerance between Israel and Palestine. Resolution of this particular crisis might be sufficient to ward off the end of the world as we know it. So, while we get the impression that Ms. Clinton will be involved, in fact Obama's envoy George J. Mitchell will do the leg-work.
Women in politics? I don't think so!
