Last year, she baked and decorated 2,000 cupcakes for a charity event. Of course, she decorated them using red, white, and blue. If it were up to Mandy, it would be the Fourth of July all the time. However, Mandy wanted to pay homage to the Fourth of July; therefore, she always painted her fingernails some shade of red or blue every time she had a manicure. In short, Mandy loved to incorporate the colors red, white, and blue wherever and whenever she could. These colors were her life.

Mandy needed to redecorate her home. Therefore, she went hog wild with the patriotic color palette. She painted her bedroom a peacock blue with red accents. She also painted her living room robin's egg blue with white accents. The bathroom was painted fire engine red with all white towels. In addition, red and blue highlighted her office and guest room. Yes, even her car was red with blue interior. In fact, her patriotic car was about to land her the job of a lifetime.

John, an interior decorator, had been looking for someone who shared his love of color to help him with a project, As luck would have it, Mandy and John were about to come face to face. Mandy was visiting his store and she noticed that he was in need of a project partner. She applied for the job; however, being a free spirit, Mandy had no samples to show John. Therefore, she showed him her Fourth of July inspired car. Realizing her impressive eye for color, John offered Mandy the job of painting and decorating a series of apartments around the city.

Mandy accepted the job and her first idea was to paint and decorate the buildings and rooms in the color combinations of red, white, and blue. Se wanted to paint the town red, white, and blue to honor the Fourth of July. However, John wasn't keen on this idea. He envisioned the buildings painted in some variety of brown and the interior of the buildings being a mix of colors. He agreed to have the accents of the rooms be in red, white, and blue. Therefore, they did end up decorating the townhouses red, white, and blue in subtle ways.
