Let's Plan for a Special Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is May 13th this year. The day is fast approaching, and many of us are struggling with ideas for our mom's. Moms are the hardest to purchase gifts for since no item can really show how much you love your mom. Having a party to honor your mother is a great way to show your love, as well as get together with all your family members! We all love our mothers, so maybe this year we should try this party idea to let our moms and other important women in our life know how significant they are in our lives!

A Mother's Day party could be a morning brunch time or an afternoon tea time. Decide which time your mother will like best and pick a time according to her desires. Remember, this party is all about your mother and what she likes best. Put aside your own personal favorites and make it a goal to tie in all her favorite things into this party. Serve her favorite foods and drinks and be sure all her loved ones are present at the party.

Plan some fun motherly outdoor games. You know your mother's favorite games, but some of my mom's favorites include: mini-golf, badminton, and croquet. Some other great outdoor mom-friendly games include, water balloon toss, scavenger hunts, horseshoes, lawn dart games and volleyball are some other favorites. If you live near a park, you could plan the party there weather permitting of course!

You should also plan some fun inside games that your mom loves. Once again, be sure to pick your mother's favorite games. Some favorites include Dutch Blitz, Dominoes, Cards, and of course many board games. Pick games that are fast moving so that you don't end up playing one specific game the entire time!

If your mom loves flowers, be sure to fill the house with flowers. Centerpieces, potted flowers and vases full of blooms will bring delight and sunshine to any mother's face! Whatever your mom loves, be sure to have present at the party! Decorate to the top to show your appreciation and love for your mom.

When it comes to food, be sure to serve your mother's favorites! Cookies, chocolate and hard to find appetizers are great food choices. Serve finger food and have it available throughout the party. Remember that calories don't count when it is your mother's special day!

Be sure to have a special gift for your mom as well. When shopping for your mom, I highly suggest asking for a specific item. Mother's can be very hard to shop for, and you want to be sure your gift is a hit with her! One great option is a gift certificate to her favorite store. Another awesome gift your mom is sure to love is coupons for your time and work! Mom's have lots of little project and who better to complete the projects that her children that she put so much of her life effort into!

Try to make your mom feel special no matter what the cost on this mother's day May 13, 2007. It's only one day out of the year, and let's devote it to her! Even if you are a mother yourself, make the day all about your mom!
