Letter to the President and Vice President - Save the Middle Class

Ranee Wright
As a single mom of 7 years, I have crossed many obstacles to reach middle class ( as a single 'bread-winner') and see the benefits of my hard-work only working against me. I urge you to not only help the poor but others like me - the struggling middle class, achieving this status through continued hard work and adversity. Please put an end to the middle class paying for the well-being of the poor. Save the middle class before it's too late. I believe in utilitarianism and that America needs to 'take' more from the squandering wealthy, as opposed to the usual bleeding from middle class, for the betterment of society. I have worked too hard to get where I am to stand by as the rich get richer, poor get poorer and the middle class paying for it.

President Obama is/was my 'Jefferson Smith' from Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and I am beginning to feel let down. Your claims, Mr. President, while campaigning, were strong for positive change and I believed in you. Feeling you were untainted by much of the political arena that disgusts Americans. My expectations for you: formulate a plan to not only help the poor, uninsured, but also alleviate the strain of the struggling middle class.

It's also my opinion that everyone high-paid 'official' in government should agree to donating at least 10% of their salary to the federal deficit. With billions going to fight the continued (8 year) war on terror and your salaries and health care as it is, you have the ability to give back to our society on a grand scale. Take the money you spend on your country club and give it back to America. Maybe you could even claim the donation on your tax return. My faith and those of most Americans, is quickly dwindling. This would be a great way to show America that those in government are willing to give for the betterment of society and the US economy, as the middle class does. Finally, put th tax increases and new taxes on the wealthy that can afford it, not the middle class!!

I submitted this letter to the White House.

If you really want your voice heard, Post it in U-Tube. Everyone reads that. This woman got results from Bank of America who had increased her percentage.

Everyone should post on U-tube instead or along with Content.

Nice article. It's definitely a problem when the top 1% make most of the money in the country!

Yes...we as the middle class seem to get neglected the most. Soon we may even disappear. Good article.
