Letters to God Review

Allie Bojko
First let me start off by saying I was extremely excited when this movie Letters To God came out this past weekend because it certainly seemed like a movie worth watching. I feel like this would be a movie that I was going to relate to considering I had a friend that went through this difficult process. I also decided to watch this movie because I wanted to watch something that was going to be sad and yet find out what happens to the sick child hoping that they would indeed beat out their sickness. I'd like to throw a couple of things in here about the movie that I clearly loved such as the whole casting crew, the sound effects, cinematography as well as the actual editing of the movie because they were all very professionally done. It was really impressed with the story line as well as the acting, it truly showed that they took the necessary time to get this movie right and they did. SO read on to get more of my review on Letters To God.

Let's get into the movie's story line, it is a factual story of a sick boy fighting for his life to beat out his sickness to cancer and how his life effects the lives of others around him. Now the story line is a little bit of a cliché because it does in fact compare to movie's like A Walk To Remember but it was really well done. It was a very sad movie and me being an adult women couldn't hold her tears in, I was literally crying like no other it even brought me to the time when I saw the movie the Titanic (When Jack dies in the ice cold water holding Rose's hand) except that this movie revolved around this young boy fighting cancer. Had I've known it was going to be this sad I would've brought tissues with me that way I would've been prepared for the sad moments in the movie. I learned a lot from this movie and that's simply the fact that you should be blessed for everything you do have and that your healthy and that it can be taken away from you like a blink of an eye.

Letters To God is geared more towards those individuals that can use this movie as a resource for others that may be in some way affected by those that are suffering from an illness like cancer, known's someone, have cancer and etcetera. It's incredibly sad because I could relate to this movie because I had the exact same experience but with a former boyfriend and it's because of this reason I decided to watch this movie. I was devastated when my boyfriend was diagnosed with cancer that I ended up feeling more attached to him. I wasn't sure if I loved him or because he got the cancer I felt more sorry for him so I tried to spend some much of my time being with him. He was only 13 when he was diagnosed with cancer and he fought pretty strong for about five years than at the age of 18 he passed away. When he did indeed pass it hit me really hard because I ended by loving him, I didn't date for for a couple of years because I couldn't recover after his death. I totally understand how this movie and my personal life were indeed similar in that sense.

Letters To God was just a tremendous movie and loved every bit of it. I'm pretty sure many people won't watch this movie simply because of the movie's title. If your one of those people that don't really care what the name of the movie is, it has many decent points and messages made throughout the movie. It also conveys several key issues like how those individuals that have an alcohol addiction might just realize their problem and probably make a change for the best. It also shows how someone suffering from cancer can help bring their families closer. I would give this movie two thumbs up it was well written and would recommend this movie to anyone willing to watch sad movies.
