Letting Go

I know I cannot just stop myself from loving you
These things take time
but I can do something
I can start letting go
of all the hopes and wants and wishes
I have had with you in mind
I can stop praying for a certain outcome
when I sit down to talk with God.
It won't be easy giving up on these feelings
but it seems it's the right thing to do
You may care about me
but I don't think you love me
with the kind of love I need from you
It amazes me how I've lasted this long
But it's true what they say about a woman's heart
It survives hard times and struggles
and deception
it endures separations and long distances
and it may even endure letting go.
