Letting Light In

April Higney
Breaking away the wall of confinement, that has locked the soul within a solitary sense of emptiness and gloom.
Light emerging through the cracks of the once shattered heart, revealing the gentle colors outside, of a soft gentle flower, swaying in bloom.

It has been so dark behind these walls, that were built up around the heart, that only tried to keep out the cold.
Warmth revealed itself, passing through the empty spaces, touching the senses, showing there is more beauty to behold.

The stones begin to fall, that held so much inside the once saddened soul. The stretching branches of the windswept tree, carrying it's leaves in gentleness.
A soft kiss from the air flowing through to comfort, in a manner never so touched. The tender sounds of the birds, a vision for the eyes to caress.

Breaking away the wall of confinement that has locked the soul within a solitary sense of emptiness and gloom.
What is seen is more treasured, for its been dark for so long. Light emerging through the cracks of the once shattered heart, filling the soul's once hollow room.
