The Ann Tower Art Gallery, 141 East Main Street, Lexington KY 40507, is located in the renovated
Downtown Arts Center . The hours are Tuesday to Saturday 10-5 , Sundays 10-4 pm and by calling (859) 425-1188 for an appointment.
There are various works of Kentucky artists ranging from traditional oil paintings, watercolors, mixed media, sculptures, and modern art pieces. If you want to see a lot of different art, then this is the place to see. Most items are for sale, so be sure to ask. http://www.anntowergallery.com/
Artique' Gallery is located in the Lexington Green shopping Center, Lexington Green Circle, on Nicholasville Road and the Civic Center, 410 W. Vine, Lexington,KY., in the heart of downtown Lexington.
This is one of my favorite places to go when I'm in town. It offers a wide range of art pieces from local and national artists. Handcrafted jewelry, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, pottery and hand blown glass are just some of the items to buy and enjoy. The New Editions Art Gallery, 807 Euclid Avenue, Lexington, KY. Opened Tuesday through Saturday 10 - 6 pm and by appointment. Offering pastels, oil paintings, sculptures, art dolls and figures, and pottery in their downtown location. They also make custom framing. The Lexington Art League is housed in the Loudoun House, 209 Castlewood Drive , Lexington, KY 40505 . The Gallery Hours: Tues - Fri, 10 am - 4 pm | Sat & Sun, 1 - 4 pm during exhibitions and can be reached at 859-254-7024. They describe themselves as a thought-provoking, lively and believes in artistic freedom. They offer exhibitions, workshops and events for the community. http://www.lexingtonartleague.org/
Be sure to keep these dates in mind for the Downtown Lexington Gallery Hop, when galleries open their doors to the public five nights a year with hospitality and special incentives for buying your own work of art. The upcoming dates for 2010 are April 16, June 18, September 17 and November 19. All these Hops run from 5 - 8 pm.
