Rich Cronin of LFO died today from complications of leukemia. He was 35.

You might not recognize his name now, but if you paid any attention to music in the late 1990's chances are you heard the hit he penned for the group, "Summer Girls."

You know the one: "New Kids on the Block had a bunch of hits, Chinese food makes me sick."

The group released a couple more singles, including "Girl on TV" and "Every Other Time", but failed to meet up with the massive success of "Summer Girls."

The group took an extended hiatus in 2003 to pursue other projects. In 2005, Cronin was diagnosed with leukemia after going to the hospital with massive headaches. He underwent chemotherapy and went into remission a year later.

After his cancer fight, he teamed up with former boy banders Chris Kirkpatrick (of Nsync), Jeff Timmons (of 98 Degrees) and Bryan Abrams (of Color Me Badd) to form the group SureShot for the VH1 reality show Mission: Man Band.

LFO temporarily reformed in 2008 for a club tour, before breaking up for good in 2009.

Cronin suffered a stroke stemming from his leukemia battle, according to TMZ.

His death came as a shock to celebrity friends, including Chris Kirkpatrick and Lance Bass.

"Sad sad day that Rich Cronin died-was an amazing guy," tweeted Bass.
