LG 37LF7700 37-inch Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV Review
Interested in a New 1080p HDTV? Check Out the LG 37LF7700!
On a recent trip to London to visit an old friend I got the opportunity to review the LG 37LF7700 HDTV, which my friend had just purchased just days prior to my arrival. He graciously allowed me the opportunity to tweak and abuse the LG 37LF7700 for this review in exchange for setting up and calibrating it for him.
The LG 37LF7700 is an amazing high definition television set that has a screen display of 37 inches, a 5 ms response time and a great 1080x1920 pixel resolution. It brings a lot of eye candy as well, with a brilliant looking compact black frame and stand that would compliment any home well.
The LG 37LF7700 displays the best quality picture at 1080i; however tends to show more clarity when playing Blu Ray movie at 1080p. One of the big features of the LG 37LF7700 is the Intelligent Senor II Technology and Dual XD Picture Processor, as well its 50HZ scanning capability. It also has a huge native 16:0 aspect ratio, 500cd/m2 brightness level and 178 degree viewing angle, far greater than anything available by the competition.
Freesat Television is also available with the LG 37LF7700, which boosts the signal of free HD television services provided by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation). While Freesat can certainly be used with both HD and SD signals on the LG 37LF7700, the HD allows for much better quality and is always preferred. Freesat is also a huge upgrade over the Freeview feature available in most of the current competition, allowing better motion stability and a much sharper color.
The sound system for the LG 37LF7700 is tuned and created by Mark Levinson expertise, which LG proudly displays just about everywhere in their marketing of the model. It is powered at 10 watts and the thing is a quite the beast, exerting pristine and crisp sound that never sounds canned or muddled as some of the previous models I have reviewed in this price range.
The LG 37LF7700 is Energy Star compliant, meaning it is energy efficient and uses less electricity than competing models that are not Energy Star compliant. Thus paying a little extra for this model will pay for itself and then some over time due to less energy consumption. Also of note is the series of digital shortcuts on the LG 37LF7700 remote control, which proves quite useful and cuts down on redundancy.
Sporting amazing quality, stylish looks and at an amazing price no less the LG 37LF7700 is quite the HDTV. I highly suggest shopping around to find the best price and heavily considering the LG 37LF7700 if you're in the market, as it excels above the competition at around the same retail price.
