Liberals, Psychology, Education and the APA

The American Psychological Association (APA) is About Pushing a Liberal Agenda Rather Than Seeking Scientific Standards

No wonder why the nuts are getting nuttier! The APA is just another liberal group looking to define victims and persecute villains. Unfortunately, the APA represents America's psychological profession. The APA does not use proven scientific data. Instead they rely on the same tactics as the National Association of Colored People (NAACP), National Organization for Women (NOW), The Sierra Club, Amnesty international, La Raza, Planned Parenthood, and the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). They divide society into groups of victims and villains and demand reparations in the form of affirmative action, punitive legislation, political correctness and demonetization of those who don't fall in line with their agenda.

The APA has nothing to do with science and everything to do with liberalism. Just as with Global Warming, liberals use phony science to justify a political agenda. They silence opposition by falsely claiming that the science is settled and ridicule opponents as "flat-Earthers", "knuckle draggers" and ignorant people.

It seems that everything that is coming out of our higher educational system has a political agenda. Psychologists are no exception. America's universities are the "enemy within" because they promote a one-sided political agenda rather than encouraging independent thought and political discourse. Conservative opposition is effectively silenced and marginalized by stigmatizing them as bigots, haters, homophobes, racists, xenophobes, misogynists, selfish polluters and just plain ignorant people. Conservatives put their grades at jeopardy just by "coming out of the closet" in today's university environment.

The result is the following "official" positions taken by the APA as written by Deborah C. Tyler in the American Thinker.

LGBT Is it possible that all research worthy of citation in APA resolutions, and literature in general, on individual and societal aspects of homosexuality over the last four decades supports the normalization of homosexuality? From the benefits of teaching first-graders about "my two daddies" to the evils of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" in the military, APA-cited research uniformly finds a prejudicial society and discriminatory heterosexuals to be the source of psychological problems for LGBT people.

Abortion APA support for abortion has been aggressive and tenacious, beginning with their first pro-abortion resolution in 1969. The ghoulish justification -- that abortion is "clearly a mental health and child welfare issue" -- appeared in the first resolution and is often quoted in APA documents as a kind of precedent. Recall (from the Vietnam War) "we had to destroy the village in order to save it"?

Intelligent Design In a 2007 resolution, the APA asserted that "Intelligent Design Theory poses a threat to the quality of science education in the United States." This resolution is notable for its dull-witted conflation of intelligent design with creationism, a religious view that is antithetical to much current scientific knowledge. Intelligent design, on the other hand, is a frame of reference that acknowledges the possibility of purposiveness, rather than pure randomness, to evolutionary events. Intelligent design encompasses rigorous scientific inquiry by researchers (they even have Ph.D.s!) in numerous fields. Intelligent design research and perspectives no more threaten the quality of science education or the theory of evolution than Newtonian equations threaten the statistical nature of quantum theories in physics.
