2. Take up music - Librans are known to be talented in various arts; use this celestially-given gift to pick up a new musical interest, join a chorus group or try out for American Idol.
3. Move to a new city - various 2009 horoscopes suggest that 2009 will be a good year to relocate. This would be a great opportunity to try out a new place, make new friends and advance your career by taking a new direction. Being social creatures, Librans wouldn't have much trouble adjusting to a new land.
4. Get promoted at work - it is part of a Libran's nature to be modest and reserved about his or her strong skills, abilities and smarts in a professional setting. This often leads them to keep quiet, underestimate their ability or turn down opportunities for fear they are not qualified. It's time to leverage the skills you know you have to your advantage - show your capabilities at work and get the promotion you deserve! Librans also make good managers, so maybe it's time to go for that leadership position.
5. Don't spend more than you earn - Librans have an inherent love of beauty and luxury. They like to splurge and indulge and this often leaves them with few savings at the bank. This year, try to keep track of expenses more carefully and cut back on some unnecessary and superfluous items. With the way the economy is going, it's wise to be prudent in personal finances.
6. Try to make decisions faster... or, try to make any decisions at all and stick to them - it takes Librans a while to make up their minds as they like to carefully consider possibilities and have difficulty committing to just one course of action. They are often influenced by other relationships around them and are too often concerned about the impact of their decisions on others. It would be a good exercise to focus on making decisions based on what you want this year and sticking to them! Start by giving yourself 60 seconds to decide on a dinner item from the restaurant menu!
7. Become a better boyfriend/girlfriend - Love is the pillar that holds up most Librans. In 2009, try to focus on being an even more supportive partner. Plan activities and vacations that will bring you closer together and don't come off too strong imposing your ideals on your mate. Give him room to breathe. It will cause you great instability if you don't pay attention and nurture your current relationship.
8. Contribute to the community - People in the Libra sign are always concerned with balance and social harmony. Bring your charm and good ideas to a local organization by volunteering. Pick a cause that is important to you and make a commitment to spend a few hours a month helping out. Not only will it help you contribute to the harmony of the world around you, but you will doubtless find this kind of work very rewarding.
9. Adopt a healthier lifestyle - whatever your biggest vice is when it comes to consumption, get rid of it. If you smoke, quit. If you eat junk food daily, stop it. This year, pay attention to your health by eating more locally grown fruit and vegetables, drinking less, sleeping more. Librans can be quite the work-a-holics so make sure you give yourself enough time to slow down, breathe and de-stress. Try doing a detox session for a month: don't fall for the various gimmicky detox diets out there. All you need to do is get back to basics: eliminate smoking, drinking and eating out. You'll be amazed how great you feel at the end.
10. Keep in better touch with friends and loved ones - Librans are social creatures. Friends, family and significant others are the most important parts of their life. They do not like being alone. However, with everyone's busy lifestyles, it's easy to fall out of touch with many people who were once important to you. This year, make an effort to reach out to distant friends and relatives and rebuild old relationships. There are no excuses - you have e-mail, cell phones, Facebook, MySpace, Tweeter... Even a short card or e-mail would help you renew some old bonds and enrich the circle of friends around you. Also, try to make plans with as many local friends and family as possible each week - if you don't have time for after-work drinks or dinners or if your budget won't allow it, invite your friends over for a pot-luck dinner or for a pot of tea.
