Since I was a child I was surrounded by odd presences in our old house as well as by the death of my loved ones. I remember going to close family member's funerals at the age of 6, 10 and 13. I have always believed in life after death - or at least wanted to. That is until I, like many others out there, had a few paranormal experiences of my own. I do believe our old family house was haunted not by one, but by a few spirits. Our whole family (including my grandmother before she died) would be woken up in the middle of the night by our piano playing beautiful classical music by itself - that is, unless someone occasionally broke in just to play the piano. Also, I believe my sister and I were contacted by my grandmother after she passed away. She always stated that she would never live to see me and my twin sister become teenagers; strangely enough she was right - she passed on the night before our thirteenth birthday a little after nine that night. Three nights after, my twin sister and I were sitting in the kitchen right beside the room she was in when she died and we heard her distinctly call out to us "Girls!". We looked at each other frightened and ran back to our rooms asking each other if they heard what the other had heard. How could there not be something to the belief of life after death?
Science has not only acknowledged this phenomenon but has dedicated a field of study solely to the purpose of learning more - the field of Parapsychology. In this study, the phenomenon of hearing a disembodied voice in person or on an electronic recording is called an "EVP" electronic voice phenomenon. Since most parapsychologists believe that each human being is made up of the molecular energy that surrounds us and when we pass on we return to that collective energy. But sometimes that energy still has a charge or a spark which could drive the energy to try to remain a part of the world they are used to.
Whether you choose to believe in something is your opinion. I didn't believe, I only hoped, until I was faced with the undeniable fact. It is more comforting to me than to think that all of this is for nothing. Is there enough strength in the human will to make a part of them come back even after death to interact with the ones they lost? If you choose not to believe in the power of the human spirit then don't be surprised if you never have any of these kind of experiences.

I always obsess over the "life after death" controversy because it's so fascinating. I definitely believe there's life after death, whether it be heaven or hell. IT always frustrates me when others doubt the evidence that's right in front of them.
Nice write up!
I think I'm fascinated by the paranormal because it is proof that there is life after death. I've had many experiences myself. Great article!
I've never been much on Heaven & Hell, but I am firmly convinced that there is life after death. I good friend of mine died three Halloweens ago, and he has visited me for most of October both years since.
