Life Cycle

Morningstar
Taken in context,
Nature's not a bad thing.
Trees shedding leaves,
magnificent beauty.

Broken apart,
Nature's so depressing.
Death camouflaged in hues--
red, russet, gold

Part of you leaving,
slowly,
without warning,
Like fallen leaves decay,
and life is taken away.

You are mine no longer,
your fragile body
Owned by the cold, jealous
Earth.

Maybe I can save you.
Will you live,
if I love you?
