There is no perfect marriage, no candy coating, and at the time of serving those papers, no more solution to the dissolution. What we have here is an infection: yet, curable.
What if you could treat this infection before it spread? This all might sound foolish, but what would you call this type of business and who would provide these services?
There are churches that have retreats for unmarried couples. They prepare them with the gospel truth and "life lessons" prior to making the trip down the isle. It's funny though, especially within the Catholic church, that these classes are taught by Priests and Nuns who don't have a clue what it's like to be married, living with the opposite sex day after day. However, what about all the other couples that are not involved in the church. There are more and more individuals choosing to marry without one bit of information other than what their parents or peers have or have not gone through. Sure, they can all read books on the subject, but pre-marriage classes and certification might be the answer.
A possible solution: "Life Cycle" certified class instruction. Without it, no marriage license can be sought after. Does this mean that by going through a Life Cycle class from dating, engagement, marriage, money, job, job loss, pregnancy, children, age, illness and death, will help the pending marriage? It might. It would at least answer questions and to prepare everyone for a better future and reduce the Divorce rate.
The Life Cycle classes can be set up in all counties through the marriage license bureau. In most states where a marriage can be performed at the county building, these classes can be set up for weekend retreats, or at the local level of community arenas. The classes for certification will be taught by a group of individuals who will perform at all levels with a charge for these services for the Life Cycle© Pre-Marriage Package.
The Life Cycle classes will prepare couples for Marriage, similar to a Drivers Permit. You learn first before you are handed the keys to your new car.
