Life is like a Cigarette

Life Is Like A Cigarette

Pack them first

Conception.

Light up

Birth

Watch it burn

Every drag is another day.

Hold it a second.

Then exhale.

Half gone

Middle age.

Look to see how much is left

Memories.

Listen to the crackle; smoke fills the air

affecting others

Fruits of your labor.

One drag left

Final breath.

The flame is gone

Death.

Filter-corpse; ashtray-coffin.

Interesting take on life, but easily understood and applicable. For me it isn't melancholy but a bit methodical, almost like life is to be interpreted as an easy rythm not easily escaped. That's not how I see life, however, for me life is more like a balloon on a windy day, you don't know where you're headed, but it should be a fun ride! Nicely written- and easily interpreted however the reader sees fit.
