A Limerick in Rhyme on the Running of Time

Linda Ann Nickerson
"A diplomat is a man
who always remembers
a woman's birthday
but never remembers her age."

Robert Frost
(1874 - 1963)

My get-up-and-go has done gone;
I don't like this phenomenon.
I look in the glass
And say, "Think I'll pass,"
As I run my lifelong marathon.

Having just come around the first bend,
It is hard now to quite comprehend:
Is my race halfway through,
Or can I start anew?
If I can't, then I may just pretend.

Awesome!! I try to start anew each day. I don't want to lose any lessons from my past. However, I don't want to get stuck there.

My race is half way over. I won a few and lost a few, but in the end - nobody really cares but me. So - I still look for new races to win. I just don't refer to them as Marathons anymore. I love your poem - it is very reflective of our aging stage. Great job.

    I get it, for sure!
