Lifes Question

Teresa Mahieu
All my lIfe
I've worked and slaved,
I've been proud and
I've been brave.

I've conquered demons
Inside and out,
And asked myself;
What is this life I live
All about?

Answers come
in many small ways,
the laugh of a child
or a lovers gaze.

A friendly smile from
neighbors and friends,
A helping hand now and then.

I question myself with
always the same answer;
This life you live
is not yours alone.

So share a smile or
a knowing gaze,
And help another along
this life maze.

    A simple smile can mean so much to another human being. Excellent.
