Lifetime Fitness - King of Gyms?

John Watson
There are a couple of things you will notice upon visiting Lifetime Fitness. The first is the sheer size of the building that holds the gym. No grimy building in a neighborhood strip mall here, instead you'd be forgiven for thinking you had taken a wrong turn and were approaching a mall. Stepping inside does nothing to change that feeling. Fitness equipment is nowhere to be seen, unless you happen to glance up at the second level, rather you are greeted by a lavish reception area which has a cafe, hair salon and spa at it's heart.

Lifetime has breathed new life into the fitness industry with a revolutionary new take on the gym. Their locations are open 24 hours so that anyone, no matter how hectic their schedule, can find the time to get back in shape. The interior is absolutely pristine, including state of the art equipment and changing rooms that put just about every other club to shame. A full size basketball court, squash and racquetball courts, plus a climbing wall. The gym also boasts 3 pools; a lap pool, a zero depth pool with water slide and a massive outdoor pool, a great place to relax after a hard workout.

The club has also gone to great lengths to make sure that their members kids are looked after too. They boast a kids play area that is nothing short of incredible. It houses a kids-sized basketball court, jungle gym, huge plasma TV showing family movies and a computer area with a bunch of Mac computers. The geek in me wants to cancel my workout and just hang in that area.

The list of classes and activities is too long and varied to list here, but has just about everything to fulfill your needs, no matter your fitness level. One of the best of these programs is a Summer Camp for kids, perfect parents who both work and are at a loose end for things to do with their little ones during the holidays.

You may find that the monthly pricing is a little more than you've paid at other gyms, but the quality of the club and what they have to offer, make those few extra dollars seem very worthwhile.

I agree with eric. that montoya guy really does need to be fired. He yelled at my sister when she said she didn't want to sign up as a member at the end of her trial

Wow a nice place but the workers will treat you like trash once they have your credit card number. Montoya a worker there yelled at me when I told him I wanted to no longer be a member. Stay clear of him, he's bad news.

Sounds like a good gym. That's something (good gym facilities) that's sorely lacking in my area.

This sounds like an awesome place, I wish we had something like this around here. All we have are old Gold's and some local gyms.

The fitness industry is a billion dollar business, everything is biggger, our supermarkets, our malls and now our workout centers. Its fast becoming the singles bar because everybody wants to be in shape, I think it great that these places are open 24/7. Now you have no excuse not to workout, or get your nails done or find some time to work off some stress.
