Light Beers Under 100 Calories

Nicole Lang
Trying to lose weight and going out with friends can be difficult. Even light beer can offer some pretty high calories. There are a few options are available if you want to have a few light beers without blowing a diet completely.

Being in the midst of football season bars are packed and people are filling up on beer. Of course the best option is not to have beer at all but if you are looking for something a bit lighter here are some choices for beer at under 100 calories per 12 oz serving.

Amstel Light (95 calories and 5 grams of carbs)

Anheuser Busch Natural Light (95 calories and 3.2 grams of carbs)

Aspen Edge (94 calories and 2.6 grams of carbs)

Budweiser Select (99 calories and 3.1 grams of carbs)

Budweiser Select "55" (55 calories and 1.9 grams of carbs).

*Lowest calorie count available and carb count available.

Kipling Light (99 calories and 8 grams of carbs).

*This is the highest carb count of any other light beer on the list.

Michelob Ultra (95 calories and 2.6 grams of carbs)

Miller Genuine Draft "64" (64 calories and 2.4 grams of carbs). Second lowest calorie count.

Miller Lite (96 calories and 3.2 grams of carbs)

Milwaukee Best Light (98 calories and 3.5 grams of carbs)

Molson Canadian 67 (67 calories and 4 grams of carbs)

*Tied for third lowest calorie count but more carbs than most sub-70 calorie light beers.

Pabst Extra Light (67 calories).

*Tied for third lowest calorie count but also the lowest alcohol count.

Yuengling Light (98 calories and 6.6 grams of carbs)

Of course, if you are at a bar with friends, the largest obstacle would likely be getting most of these beers. Amstel Light, Miller Light etc. might be standards but the three lowest calorie options are not always available making it sometimes difficult to choose anything under 70 calories.

Perhaps with a more health conscious society we are not far from bars with lighter options. Although of course the best option is water which most are not likely to order while sitting at a bar. These options are best when selecting a beer. Let's face it although beer might taste good it will put you on a fast track to weight gain so drink it in moderation and when drinking if diet is on your mind choose on of the lower calorie/carb options listed above..
