On those hot summer nights as you sit and lounge on your deck what would be better but some mood lighting to decorate and illuminate your decking. Nowadays there are many different options and way to add lighting to your decking that anyone can do it. The following are some great ideas and companies that you can get different lighting products from.

Rail Lighting: Many companies have different ways to light up the night through the railing on your deck. GAF-Elk Corporation has a new lighting system called Nightscapes that you can see on their website at www.gaf.com. The lighting and electrical work gets threaded through the hollow rails and posts that they sell. It will not only light up your deck but define the dimension to give it a classy look at night.

Post Cap Lighting: This is one of the most popular ways to light up your deck. You can get these in many different styles and also there are not only electric but also solar powered lights. The solar powered lights usually glow bluish white and the lights are very dim but you do not have to pay for the electrical involved. There are also lighted post caps from companies such as Dekorators which are electric and give a nice warm glow to your deck.

Mounted Deck Lighting: These lights can be mounted on top of the railing or onto the decking itself. They are solar and electrical powered, however solar looks cleaner. They are great because they aren't hindered by a specific area they should go and you can get them in varying heights depending on the look you want for your deck. There are also some with curvatures that you can mount on the rails that will light up the underneath of the deck. Which is great for entertaining.

There are so many different ways to created an illuminated deck nowadays that does not kill your pocket book and increase your electrical bill. Just remember to look around and observe the wattage that the lights take if you r are looking at electrical or the color and brightness that is promised on a solar powered light. That way you are satisfied with the overall appearance once you have installed all the lighting.
