In January 1995, a Blytheville, Arkansas tradition began. Main Street Blytheville, a group of community leaders and volunteers, decided to began decorating the center of town with lights and decorations for the holiday season. I don't think they ever imagined it would become so huge! Dozens of people in the community volunteered and helped raise money to purchase the lights and decorations for downtown Blytheville.

Lights of the Delta soon became a huge success that drew in the attention of many people, two of these people were Mr. and Mrs. Charles "Bo" Adams; owners of the Festival of Lights. Mr. and Mrs. Adams saw what the community was trying to do and they played a big part in making Lights of the Delta what it is today by donating their entire attraction. In addition to such a generous donation, Main Street Blytheville also purchased all of the remaining decorations from Memphis Tennessee's Inter Faith "Starry Nights" display.

Today, Lights of the Delta can not only be seen by driving down main street, but a much larger attraction sits on 40 acres and holds over 6 milliion lights, 36 major motion lighting displays and numerous complimentary pieces. Lights of the Delta sits on the former Ecker Air Force Base in Blytheville, surrounded by the beauty of a gorgous lake and marvelous trees. The roads are paved to make the 1.4 mile holiday experience even more enjoyable.

Lights of the Delta isn't just lights though, its a family experience. You can visit with Santa, take a walk through the souvenir stand and enjoy various types of entertainment such as the live nativity scene, or meeting Miss Lights of the Delta. Visitors can drive through this marvelous site by car or even take a hayride. At Lights of the Delta it's not just about lights - its about feeling that holiday feeling and at Lights of the Delta - there is truly something for everyone.
