Like Icicles on a Church

April Fox
and i was looking for some inspiration
love songs only go so far
and i was looking for the motivation
spinning, tripping, knew you were a star
and you were there, you were there when the fire fell
thought you knew, holy fuck this was bright as hell
and i am
slap flat out of all the words
i used to use to make some kind of sense
of all the things i breathed and i am
slap flat out of lies to tell
and games to play
and caustic apathy and rage
and when the blankets shudder in the dark
there is only this, now
and when the sky is breaking over head
i'll catch the pieces in my palms
and bleed life through the holes
they make
stigmata, i am christ
i will not
die
for
you
i am society's weak bitch
i am the whore who lost her shoes
i am the infant in the gutter, cold and wet
i am the crack pipe in her mother's pocket
damp with her saliva
and her tears
i am the mountain you stood on to give your sermon
i'm parishioners
the saints
there is this madness going round
you just might catch it, if you're still
you are the pain of amputation
you're the red dwarf gobbling up the universe
we are the blindest creatures ever
could have seen
this is the ever, it's the all, it's the beginning and i'm
following you home.
