In 2007, police found a loaded .40 calibre pistol in the tour bus of Lil Wayne (legally, Dwayne Carter). In 2009, after striking a deal with prosecutors, Wayne pleaded guilty and will face a Manhattan judge on Tuesday to be sentenced to one year in prison.

Lil' Wayne thanked his fans last month via web video for their unwavering support and asks for their continued support in the future. As MTV.com has reported, the rapper has been sending the MTV station videos that document his preparation for his upcoming sentencing.

As for Lil Wayne's treatment in prison? Jail officials state that they will assess and treat Wayne as they do any other inmate. However Martin Horn, who was the former head of NYC jails, stated "It's a challenge" to find a balance between special treatment and keeping him safe. Though Wayne will probably not be among the general population and if he is he will have an escort.

The multiplatinum artist and winner of four Grammy's has no plans on slowing down and will continue his musical pursuits upon his release from prison.
