English singer Lily Allen was rushed to the hospital today, she had become gravely ill following her miscarriage on November 1st. According to People Magazine, Lily Allen was already suffering from an extremely dangerous condition called septicemia. Meaning bacteria in her bloodstream was reproducing faster then her system could handle. In laymen terms this condition is known as "blood poisoning". Friday, Lily Allen tweeted to her fans, thanking them for all their support in regards to her recent miscarriage. She was 7 months along in her pregnancy when it prematurely terminated and resulting in the death of the fetus.

Lily Allen almost died today when she was rushed to the hospital today with septicemia, or in laymen terms, blood poisoning.

Her condition was likely brought on by the singers recent miscarriage. She had miscarried before when she was dating musician Ed Simons.

Septicemia is an extremely serious condition, if it is left untreated it can quickly turn into septic shock as the bacteria in the bloodstream reproduce faster then the weekend immune system can deal with.

Lily Allen had her most recent miscarriage in the 7 month of her pregnancy. Allen's unborn child, already named Sam Cooper, was lost to miscarriage on Monday November 1st, 2010.

Her publicist released a statement that Lily Allen was responding well to treatment. Which usually consists of intravenous antibiotic therapy. Supportive care as well as observation around the clock.

The type of antibiotic therapy that Lily Allen is likely being treated with generally consists of a catheter being semi-permanently being inserted into the singers vein.

Liquid antibiotics in a medicine bag are hooked up to that catheter with sterile clear plastic tubing.

The antibiotic that Lily Allen is on would likely be administered anywhere from 4 to 6 times daily.

I know the procedure as I myself have been hospitalized for several days for antibiotic therapy after my arm became infected following a dog bite.

The doctors were worried that I could easily get blood poisoning and wanted to make sure to prevent that as my infection was already spreading up my arm.

On Friday November 5th, Lily Allen tweeted from her Twitter account to her fans where she stated, "Thank you for all your kind messages." This was likely related to Lily Allen's miscarriage and not her blood poisoning as it had likely not taken full effect yet.

Lilly Allen was born May 2nd 1985 (the humble author of this article was born May 3rd though several years prior to 1985) and it would have been a tragedy if we had lost her so young. Lily Allen still has much to do in this world and the fact that she almost died should be a reminder to us all about just how fragile life is.

Lily is expected to make a full recovery now that she is under doctors care and not only being monitored regularly but also receiving antibiotics to deal with with the bacteria that lead to her blood poisoning.

Personally I would expect the English songstress to make a full recovery and once she has dealt with the trauma of her miscarriage I would bet my money that she will be back stronger then ever.

If the old saying is true that an artist must suffer to produce great art then Lily Allen has had more suffering in her young life then most.

We wish you the best Lily Allen and look forward to your return once you're ready.

As stated before, doctors were predicting a full recovery for the British born songstress and latest reports as of November 11, 2010 indicate that Lily Allen is continuing to improve more and more every day.

Lily says that all the positive cards and letters she received from fans have raised her spirits and helped speed up her recovery.
