Lily of the Valley

Lisa R. Strong
Little white flower;
The shape of a bell;
Sweet as a spring rain;
Growing by the handfuls;
Behind my mother's house;
Two large vases are filled;
One for my home;
One for my mother in heaven;
Your fragrance filled the air;
Reminder of spring;
You grew wild in the shade;
I am still captivated by your beauty;
You remind me of her;
Although she is gone;
She remains alive;
When I see your delicate petals;
After a gentle shower

    Love the give and take, the pure dichotomy of your images. Life and death, captivated and free. Wonderful.
