Bradley Cooper plays Eddie Morra, a struggling writer who has fallen on hard times and a perpetual case of creative constipation. His apartment is filthy, his bum-like appearance would give Joaquin Phoenix a run for his money, and he just got dumped by his girlfriend Lindy (Abbie Cornish). His pathetic existence seems to be a classic example of Murphy's Law manifested until a chance encounter with an old friend leads him to try a powerful and unregulated drug, NZT. This smart drug allows him to tap into 100 percent of his brain power, providing him with the ability to work harder, learn faster, and charm the pants off just about anyone. Suddenly, he is the guy everyone wants to be. He is smart, confident, funny, surrounded by both beautiful women and power players.

After discovering NZT's capability to unlock human potential, Morra begins to use his new-found skill set to play the stock market, turning hundreds of dollars into millions with ease. His unconventional and rapid rise to success captures the attention of business tycoon, Carl Van Loon (Robert De Niro) who takes Morra under his wing. Equipped with money, a job, a killer new wardrobe, and an ex-girlfriend who comes back into his life after rethinking their failed relationship, Morra's life seems too good to be true...because it is.

Nothing comes without a price, and NZT is no exception. When he starts to experience the negative side effects of the drug, Morra starts an impromptu investigation to find other users. What he learns is disturbing. What proceeds is a thrilling series of events, following Morra on the run, dodging hitmen and dangerous people in pursuit of NZT.

Limitless gives Bradley Cooper the opportunity to display his versatility as an actor in the role of Eddie Morra. Not only do we get to see those comedic chops that we already know and love, but we also get to watch him develop a character that believably transitions from disheveled, struggling writer to charismatic savant. Cooper displays that special movie star magnetism that often translates into box office success. Additionally, Robert De Niro is a good foil for Bradley Cooper, as they play off each other brilliantly in their respective roles.
