The Lincoln Park Community Shelter located at 600 W. Fullerton Parkway in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood is seeking volunteers. The Lincoln Park Community Shelter, or LPCC is a social service agency that helps men and women who are facing homelessness and have been doing so for 25 years. They are currently seeking volunteers to help at the shelter and offer interviews with prospective volunteers on a weekly basis. Some volunteer opportunities that are available include front desk.reception, where you can work with the staff, other volunteers and guests. Other responsibilities include answering the phone, and overseeing visiotor and guest sign in and sign out.

If reception work is not your choice, you might enjoy teaching a class on how the guests can enhance their life skills. Volunteers are provided with a syllabus that outlines class guidelines, but volunteers can use their person experience and backgrounds to help them host the class. For more information on how you can be a volunteer at the Lincoln Park Community Shelter, call 773-549-6111 or visit their website at www.lpcsonline.org.
