Since my cousin and I were unable to get together for the holidays, we have decided to have dinner with our families at the end of January, 2011. She is the biggest animal lover, and volunteers for animal causes as much as she can.

I wanted to get her a thoughtful holiday gift, so I thought I would check out what the Lincoln Park Zoo had to offer. Even though the holidays are over, Lincoln Park Zoo, located at 2001 North Clark Street in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, is still offering special ADOPT Packages that include cute animal plushes, such as lions, polar bears, silverback gorillas, chimpanzees, beavers and many others, a fact sheet about the animal, a personalized ADOPTion certificate, magnet and a photograph.

I paid 35 dollars for the package, and although I could have had the gift sent to my cousin's home, I had it sent to mine, so that I could give it to her personally. Our school also got involved with the The ADOPT an animal program plan because it was a great sponsorship opportunity for students to get involved with the animals, and inspired them to learn about wildlife and teamwork. When the animals chosen were the same as their school mascot it inspired even more of an interest.

If you want more information on how you can get involved with the ADOPT Animal sponsorship at the Lincoln Park Zoo, call 312-742-2000 or visit their website.
