Lincoln Square and Ravenswood Neighborhoods Overlap
Neighborhood: Lincoln Square
Chicago, IL 60640
United States of America
Chicago is home to a vast network of unique and historic neighborhoods, all distinctive in history and location, however, there are two separate neighborhoods that also share another similarity, and that is their location. Certain parts of the city, including the Chicago River to Clark and Foster to Montrose Avenue, deems the location for Lincoln Square as well as Ravenswood. Both neighborhoods are on the east side of the river, with the exception of Ravenswood Manor.

This information is validated and appears on the City of Chicago's website. This overlapping can be quite confusing, and a little mysterious, because the borders vary. The area that includes Rosehill Cemetery, which is Chicago's largest cemetery, is located north of Foster to Bryn Mawr, which is definitely Lincoln Square, but is not considered a part of the Ravenswood area. The controversy and mystery presses on, but for now, certain residents might be able to claim dual residency!
