Lindsay Lohan to Appear in Court to Set Date for Probation Revocation Hearing

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel Has Warned Lohan Multiple Times

Lindsay Lohan is going to have to sober up for a court appearance Monday morning in Los Angeles. Lohan has been required to participate in an alcohol education program as a part of her probation stemming from the actress' 2007 DUI arrest. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel revoked Lohan's probation ruling that there is probable cause suggesting that Lohan is in violation of the terms set forth by the court. During the hearing, Judge Revel was very clear that Lohan has a history of non-compliance and Lindsay has been warned about the seriousness of her situation on numerous occasions. Revel also stated the court's intention to outfit Lindsay Lohan with a SCRAM (secure continuous remote alcohol monitoring) device in addition to random drug testing to be conducted a minimum of once per week.

Lohan's struggles with addiction and the law are reminiscent of those faced by Robert Downey Jr.

Lohan's struggles with addiction and the law are reminiscent of those experienced by actor Robert Downey Jr. Downey Jr. was arrested multiple times, went to rehab on several occasions, and served nearly a year in the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison in Corcoran. Lindsay Lohan could learn a thing or two from the Downey Jr. story. Since sobering up, Robert Downey Jr. has enjoyed a highly successful comeback.

Lohan's father suddenly has become interested in parenting.

Unfortunately for Lindsay Lohan, addiction is a formidable opponent. It doesn't play nice and it's always favored to win in these situations. Lohan's father, and I use that term very loosely, wrote a letter to Judge Marsha Revel asking that Lindsay be ordered into enter drug rehabilitation instead of jail. Lindsay's father is no stranger to the courtroom and has served time in jail himself. Lindsay's mother, Dina Lohan, told People that Michael Lohan is a deadbeat dad who should concentrate on making his child support payments. There has been a highly publicized feud between members of the Lohan clan, which is obviously not helping Lindsay's situation. It's unclear if Lindsay Lohan has a stable and dependable positive influence in her life. While many are drawing parallels between Britney Spears legal woes and what is currently happening with Lindsay Lohan, it's unlikely that Michael Lohan would be granted a conservatorship in light of his own criminal history and questionable motives.

It's clear that Lindsay Lohan has been on a path to self destruction for years and sadly these cycles are oftentimes not broken unless a person winds up in jail, dies, or successfully maintains sobriety.

This girl seems to let everything go in one ear.... and out the other.

Although I never liked her in her performances, I feel sorry for anyone foolish enough to get hooked. This underscores the dangers in entering the public limelight.

I agree with Michelle that the person has to want to get help. Hopefully, there is someone in her life who can guide her in the right direction.

Kath, I am intimately involved in supporting a drug/alcohol "rehab" for men with life-controlling issues. There is one thing I have learned - anyone can overcome anything if they WANT to. The key to success is truly wanting to change. Lindsay Lohan has to want help - ordering her into rehab is not the answer. When you are truly broken, at the lowest part of your crisis - then, if you reach out, someone can grab your hand and lift you up. That's my opinion. Cheers :)
