Lindsay Lohan Arrives at Her Court Hearing Late - Leaves Wearing a SCRAM Bracelet

Lindsay Lohan Will Face Random Drug Tests Once Per Week in Addition to Continuous Monitoring

Lindsay Lohan arrived at Los Angeles Superior Court eleven minutes late in spite of the knowledge that this would reinforce Judge Marsha Revel's criticism that she isn't taking her legal problems seriously enough. During the televised hearing, Judge Marsha Revel outlined the new requirements being put into place as a condition of Lohan's bail. The court has ordered that Lindsay Lohan be outfitted with a SCRAM (secure continuous remote alcohol monitoring) device immediately in addition to the new requirement that she be randomly drug tested a minimum of once per week.

Judge Marsha Revel declined a request allowing Lohan to be tested in Texas while filming

Lindsay Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, asked the court to allow Lohan to submit to random drug screenings in Texas where she is scheduled to be working on a new film. Judge Marsha Revel denied the request, making it abundantly clear that Lohan will be tested in California and that her work in Texas would have to be delayed. Holley also requested that Lohan be allowed to submit to both drug and alcohol testing instead of being forced to wear the bulky SCRAM device, which would interfere with her work. Judge Revel didn't budge and stated that Lohan will wear the court ordered device.

The court ordered Lohan to continue attending alcohol awareness counseling sessions once per week with the only acceptable excuse for absence being the requirement to submit to random drug testing. If LiLo fails to comply with the requirements set forth by the court, she is likely to find herself in jail.

The only person capable of implementing a positive and lasting change in Lohan's life is Lindsay herself

Forced abstinence from drugs and alcohol may prove to be nothing more than a temporary fix to a serious problem. While the court can impose these temporary restrictions on Lindsay Lohan, they can't make her want to change. Hopefully Lohan will grow tired of the problems her drug and alcohol abuse is causing in her life and choose to make a positive life change. The only person capable of writing a different ending to this story is Lindsay Lohan herself. If she truly wants to change her life and seeks the help and support she needs to accomplish a lasting change, there is no reason why she can't be successful. The real question is whether or not Lindsay Lohan wants to get sober. Lohan has to want it in order to achieve it and maintain it.

I agree--the change has to come from Lindsay herself. It's sad. She was so talented as a child, but questionable role models and poor life choices have ruined an other wise promising career.

I get it too Brandon and it is sad. We both know she has to make a choice and do her best to stick with it.

I wonder how long it will be before she messes up her alcohol monitoring system? I've been where she is and it is not a good place to be spiraling out of control..Sad..

The girl needs serious help. She is on the way to an early death if she keeps going the way that she is.

Celebrities don't deserve special breaks. It looks like she's not getting them.

Yep, the only person that can help her... is herself. Great update.

I give her a week, and she will be in the slammer!

More special treatment for celebs. Put her in jail for a while!

I totally agree with you, Kath. After working and sharing with the men from TLC who are going thru this transformation, you cannot force rehab. People need to transform themselves and have to want to be helped :) cheers!

At least she was given a monitoring device.
