Lindsay Lohan Late for Jail: LiLo Turns Herself in for Jail Sentence Tuesday

As Lindsay Lohan prepared to turn herself in today to begin serving serve her 90-day jail sentence in California, the media lined the roped-off sidewalk outside the Beverly Hills courthouse. Dozens of reporters and paparazzi turned out to pack into a barricaded section of the courthouse steps, waiting for that money shot of Lindsay Lohan turning herself in.

Lindsay Lohan Turns Herself In Amid Media Frenzy

Though brand new, high-profile lawyer, Robert Shapiro, reportedly already dropped the starlet, Lindsay Lohan had some legal support today as she began her jail sentence. The lawyer who handled Lindsay Lohan's cases thus far, Shawn Chapman Holley, accompanied the actress as she walked the media gauntlet.

Lindsay Lohan arrived at the Beverly Hills courthouse at a.m. PST. She traveled in a two-vehicle caravan of black SUVs from her house to the courthouse. Live footage of the black SUVs leaving Lohan's house was broadcast on HLN around 8:24 a.m., though the actress was due to be in court by 8:30 a.m. sharp. Of all the days for Lindsay Lohan to be both late and asking for leniency, this probably wasn't it.

The judge in the case, Judge Marsha Revel, mentioned early Tuesday she has a "full schedule" today, and that she wanted to expedite Lohan's final hearing. Watching Lohan disrespect her orders, and show up to her courtroom jail surrender several minutes late, was likely not taken lightly by Judge Revel. There is already a question of LiLo's respect level for the courtroom following her recent fingernail "F-U".

Less than ten minutes after walking into the Beverly Hills courthouse, Judge Revel ordered Lindsay Lohan remanded into custody and cameras turned off. Lindsay Lohan was "surrounded by four deputies and handcuffed", according to a witness report on HLN live coverage. After her booking procedure, LiLo will begin her 23-90 (???) jail sentence at the Lynwood Correctional Facility.
