Lindsay Lohan Recieves Jail Sentence of 90 Days Plus Rehab Requirement

Lindsay Lohan Gets Jail Time and is Ordered to Attend a Residential Rehabilitation Program

Linsay Lohan has made the news repeatedly because of what some call irresponsible behavior. On Tuesday, July 6, 2010, Lohan was given 90 days jail time and ordered to go to a rehab program.

According to recent reports, Lindsey Lohan will surrender on July 20th, 2010 to begin serving her sentence. Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel gave the sentence after hearing testimony that Lohan had missed alcohol treatment classes in a program Lohan had been ordered to attend. It seems the health of this young woman is in serious jeopardy if she does not cooperate.

Following the jail sentence of 90 days, Lindsey Lohan is required to attend a residential rehabilitation program. Lohan is reported to have stated she did her best while trying to balance work and her appointments. Judge Revel did not respond with sympathy to Lohan's tears. Some in Charlotte feel the sentence was lenient.

Lindsey Lohan's fans in Charlotte will recall that Lohan had her probation revoked in May, and was ordered to wear an alcohol monitor on her ankle. Lohan missed a court appearance in May which resulted in this action.

According to reports, Lindsay Lohan missed a court date recently because her passport had been stolen while she was out of the country. Fans may recall Lohan was at the Cannes Film Festival when this happened. It was because of this incident that Lohan was required to wear the alcohol monitoring bracelet

The alcohol monitor worn by Lohan is said to have registered that Lohan was drinking last month, which Lohan denies. It may seem to some fans that Lohan is not concerned about her health, or the feelings of those who care for her.

In 2007 Lohan served a total of 84 minutes of a 24-hour sentence after she chose to plead guilty to being under the influence of cocaine, no contest to a reckless driving charge, and no contest to driving while her blood alcohol level was above legal limits.

Most recovery pros will tell you that 90 days is enough time to fully detox - but not enough time to really engage in recovery. This woman will need to want to get well before she does... a court order won't assure much of anything except, perhaps, where she is living for a while.
