Lindsay Lohan Shows Up to Court Ten Minutes Late

Judge Seems Frustrated with Lohan's Irresponsible Behavior

Lindsay Lohan showed up for court in Beverly Hills today, according to Court TV. Wearing a low-cut white blouse and a dark blazer, she arrived ten minutes late for a progress hearing. Because of Lohan's absence for a similar hearing scheduled for last week, Judge Marsha Revel seemed peeved today at Lohan's seeming carelessness to show up late. Entertainment Tonight's Mary Hart on ABC reported that Judge Revel stressed Lohan's July 6th hearing would start precisely at 8:30 a.m. and she expected Lohan to show up on time for it.

Judge Revel denied Lindsay Lohan's attempt to ease probation restrictions so she can film a movie in Texas without wearing an alcohol monitoring device. However, the judge ordered Lohan must wear the monitoring device. The gadget, known as the SCRAM device, was subsequently placed on Lindsay's ankle before she left the courthouse, according to Popeater.

During the hearing televised on Court TV, the prosecutor asked for proof that Lindsay lost her passport while in Cannes. Also, the prosecutor requested proof that Lohan did try to make it to the hearing she missed last week. Lohan's attorney said Lohan's original flight ticket to leave Cannes, France on May 19 could be provided, as well as a copy of Lohan's request to get a new passport in order to fly back to the U.S.

In an interview televised by CNN, Lohan said her passport and jewelry was stolen while in Cannes, causing her to miss her flight back to the U.S. to show for her court date in Beverly Hills last week. Also in that interview, also found on TMZ website, Lohan states she is in compliance with her probation and that there is no need for her to go into rehab as her father recently suggested. Lohan followed up with a cryptic comment to the effect that everyone knows her dad is crazy and that he's the only person who has suggested she needs such help.

Lohan was arrested in 2007 for Suspicion of Drunk Driving and Cocaine Possession, according to theDigital Journal website. Just 30 days before this 2007 arrest, Lohan was issued a DUI.

Ironically, Lindsay seems to be following in her father's footsteps-excessive alcohol/drug use, criminal behavior, continued involvement with the legal system, and problematic personal relationships. If she has not already noticed these behavioral connections between herself and her father, her self-awareness mechanism is seriously out of order.

How tragic that such a young, truly talented person continues to self-destruct. Even more troubling is that her demise is taking place for all the world to see. We can only hope that some part of the legal process will be so uncomfortable for her that she will be brought to her senses and seek help for herself. There are those of us who are pulling for her to stop the self-sabotage and begin a path to redemption and recovery.

Gotta love "bad girls". And the badder she is, the more publicity she gets. As P.T, Barnum said " I don't care what your write about me, just spell my name right."

If she can't learn to organize herself and her life by now, she will soon fade into ovscurity, maybe accompanied by a premature obituary if she isn't careful.

I wonder if she's going to survive to see her 30's. Very sad. :-(

It is so sad what has become of her. I keep hoping she will get it together.

If that were one of us, the judge would pitch us in jail & through away the key!

I think going to jail might be the only wake-up call left for her.
