Lindsay Lohan Treated for Meth and Bipolar Disorder? - Actress Off to Rehab After Release from LA Jail

Lindsay Lohan Released from Jail

Charley A. Prescott
After a short 13 days in jail, Lindsay Lohan was released from the Lynwood Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, CA. Lohan's release from jail came early, on the basis of good behavior, and due to the extreme overcrowding of jails in that particular area.

In the past, the same jail was a temporary home to other celebrities like Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie and Michelle Rodriguez. Lohan was released from the facility early Monday morning, after fulfilling less than a 2 week portion of her 90-day sentence, for a probation violation related to a 2007 case.

According to PEOPLE -- "She was released at 1:35 a.m.," Los Angeles Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said outside the jail. "She has been sent directly to her next destination, which is a treatment center. And she will now be under the supervision of the L.A. County probation department. This concludes her custody."

What's Next for Lindsay Lohan?
Are you wondering where Lohan's new residence will be in California? She will spend the next 3 months enrolled in an inpatient drug rehabilitation program.

Over the next year, 24-year old Lindsay Lohan will endure random drug testing, and constant scrutiny. Her probation term is set to end in the month of August in 2011. At that point, she will once again have the freedom to do as she chooses, within the context of her own life.

The judge for Lohan's current case, Marsha Revel, had originally assigned Lohan to serve time in rehab at Morningside Recovery in Orange County. Revel decided on a different location for Lohan's rehabilitation over the weekend. The original rehab facility offered surfing, yoga and a variety of other activities to its affluent program participants. If you look at the website for www.morningsiderecovery.com, it looks like it is located in an upscale seaside resort area.

"There was concern that [Morningside Recovery] was not a secure enough facility," District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison told PEOPLE. Robison added that Judge Marsha Revel was concerned that drugs could be easily passed onto the actress, and therefore approved of an undisclosed L.A.-area rehab center. The facility reportedly is at UCLA Medical Center.

Can Lohan Really Break Away from the Heavy Drugs?
TMZ states -- "Lindsay Lohan will be treated for addiction to methamphetamine and bipolar disorder during her court ordered 90 days in rehab."

Reports indicate that Lohan is on 5 different prescription drugs -- Adderall, Dilaudid and Zoloft are on the list.

Aside from Lindsay Lohan and her physicians, who knows what is truly fact or fiction regarding her actual drug use and mental health? One thing, however, is certain -- the young actress certainly has a long road ahead of her after rehab.

What Does All of This Mean for Her Career?
Let's hope that the Mean Girls star known as "LiLo" can get her life together. Lindsay Lohan is a talented young actress, that we certainly want to continue to see on the Big Screen in the near future.

Lindsay needs some serious help before she dies from an overdose or a car crash!

Hopefully if they treat the bi-polar disorder correct as well as work on other issues she might make some progress in recovery. Addiction is so common whether you are a star or not and everyone deserves a second chance.

I'm never gonna understand why there's so much buzz around this girl!

Nice article - I hope her treatment is successful.

Drunk driving is a serious matter. I'd be interested in finding out if non-celebs receive the same treatment due to "overcrowding" of jails. If you get out that quickly what's the point?

Well why in the world did they go through all of the drama never intending to keep her locked up for any reasonable period? I guess this is what we should always expect when celebs are convicted and sentenced! Never will they serve the full term of their sentence for one reason or another!
