Lindsay Lohan's $575 White Courtroom Minidress is a Sell-out, but No Steal
Fashion Designer Kimberly Ovitz Can't Keep Infamous Frock in Stock
The pristine garment, perhaps intended to suggest innocence, was no fashion steal at $575, However, several observers have suggested that 28-year-old Los Angeles fashion designer Kimberly Ovitz (daughter of Hollywood talent mogul Michael Ovitz) may have paid Lindsay Lohan to model the look for her paparazzi-magnet legal proceeding. (Now, if Lilo could only find a necklace to go with that white minidress.)
Of course, if the dress was Lindsay Lohan's on loan, she had better return it promptly.
Overnight, the fashion frock sold out in online boutiques. Even so, the pure white garment did little to help 24-year-old Lindsay Lohan's case inside the courtroom, despite her not-guilty plea.
"You now have a pending felony case," growled Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz at the fashionable, but troubled, starlet, setting bail at $20,000. "If you violate the law, I will remand you and set no bail. Your attorney won't be successful this time .You need to follow the laws just like everybody else."
If convicted, Lindsay Lohan may face up to three years in prison for felony grand theft, as the actress has been booked on charges stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry store in Venice, California, in January. LiLo, of course, has claimed that the boutique loaned her the bauble.
The style-setting, yet controversial, singer/actress is due in court again February 23. Lindsay Lohan is currently on probation for a 2007 DUI conviction as well. She is also being investigated for supposedly shoving a staff member at the Betty Ford Center for chemical abuse treatment in December 2010.
What's with the white dress, LiLo?
Lindsay Lohan climbed out of a black SUV at the Los Angeles courthouse, wearing black high-heeled pumps and a snug white knit minidress. The errant actress also sported $350 Chanel shades.
Designed by Kimberly Ovitz for a 2011 pre-fall fashion collection, the long-sleeved, thigh-high Glavis Dress is constructed of clean finish textured knit (57% cotton and 43% nylon) with a center back zipper.
The Glavis dress is available four colors in misses' sizes ranging from two to 10 - except that the now-notable apparel is apparently sold out. Preorders may be taken for mid-April delivery.
By contrast, Michelle Obama, who happens to be married to the 44th President of the United States, recently selected a $34.95 off-the-rack gown from H&M for an appearance on "The Today Show." The First Lady rocked the budget look, offsetting the black-and-white dress with a bright orange belt and a pair of sunshine yellow high-heeled pumps.
Take a look, Lindsay Lohan. High fashion doesn't always have to cost an arm and a leg, or even a five-fingered discount.

Post a CommentThe fact that anyone would want to buy a dress that she wore for a court hearing about theft just makes me want to puke. Like that is something to copy? UGH!
I think what shewas wearing was slighty inappropriate for court. With that said, I am so sick of hearing about Lohan. I hope she straightens out her life.
