Lindsay Lohan's Bail Doubled

Alcohol Trouble for Lohan

Mean Girl Lindsay Lohan seems to be a lightning rod for trouble. Even with her alcohol-monitoring bracelet firmly attached, the beleaguered actress still manages to get herself in trouble. While Lohan didn't appear in court Tuesday, the judge doubled her bail to $200,000 after an infringement of her release was discovered.

The attorneys and Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel met behind closed door, so the exact breach wasn't disclosed. A spokesperson for the District Attorney's office said it was an alcohol-related breach, however. An Associated Press source said the breach came after Lohan's trip to the MTV movie awards on Sunday.

Although she was not required to show up in court for this infraction, Lohan must appear in court on July 6. At that time, Judge Revel will rule as to whether this alcohol-related breach violates her probation. If so, the 23-year-old Lohan could face jail time.

It's the same old song of controversy, hot water and trouble for Lohan. Last October, a Beverly Hills judged slapped an extra year on Lohan's probation because of Lohan's repeated violations. At that time, the judge told Lohan she wanted to personally see her in the courtroom without one of her entourage sending an excuse as to why she couldn't personally appear. She admonish Lohan for repeatedly thumbing her nose at the court system. She was on probation after two DUI convictions.

At that time, the Judge told Lohan that she had to get prior approval before leaving Los Angeles for work. This was BEFORE Lohan's no-show court event when she had failed to appear because she was in Cannes, France and her passport went missing. In that 2009 court appearance, the Judge told Lohan that any failure to comply could lead to jail time. The same question seems to be: Is Lohan listening?

Despite the strong words and warnings from the judge, Lohan missed that court date. When she finally came before the judge, she was given an alcohol monitoring system and ordered to leave it on, regardless of her work. Now she finds herself in front of the judge again.

In the meantime, she and Dr. Drew Pinsky have been sharing a public dialogue. Dr. Drew has been quoted as saying that LiLo's parents should load her car up with all of the illegal substances she has, send her on her way, then call the police. Then she'd be forced into getting the help she appears to resist.

Since that statement, Dr. Drew has apologized for making the comments. He stated that he simply over-stepped the boundary when he spoke out on Lohan's life choices.
