Lindsay Technical Books: The Best Source for Technical Information

Stephen Schultz
Ever worked on a car engine? Having turned a wrench or two myself, I am periodically toying with the idea of building my own engine. But where do I find that information? A few places have that. But what if I want to learn how the engine works? Other places have that. But what if I want to make the engine myself from scrap metal, melted down and molded then put into the exact form of a Sterling engine? It's that type of hard to find technical information that Lindsay books provides.

Sure, they can tell you a lot of that other stuff that's a little more simple and can be found anywhere. It can certainly be used as a one stop shop, but that's not why you go to Lindsay's web site. You visit their site for the hard to find stuff.

The premise behind Lindsay Technical Books is that the knowledge is already out there; you don't need to reinvent the wheel. You just need to find the original publishing of the book that was written by the guy that invented the wheel.

These books and manuscripts are a machine shop operator's dream. Not only can you find original manuscripts about running a lathe, but you can find an entire series about how to make an entire machine shop from scrap aluminum, using the lathe that you make in the first step to built each aspect of the rest of the shop.

Interested in electricity? Lindsay Publications has it. Start with The Boy Electrician, then read multiple books on electrical design. Then begin building your own generators from scrap. You can even read up on the experiments of Nikola Tesla and imitate his work.

Black smith's throughout the world would be fascinated by the books offered by Lindsay Inc. There are multiple books offered by Lindsay Publications that explain how to create, build and operate furnaces of all shapes, sizes and compositions. Then the books on shaping and molding metal take over and carry the reader further with even more information. By reading these books you can learn how to melt down almost any metal and turn it into something else.

None of this any interest to you? What about someone you love? With the holiday season rapidly approaching, you could buy a book for someone that they would simply not be able to find any where else. I purchased a book for a mechanically inclined friend that had always had interest in motorcycles and wanted to learn how to build them. Lindsay books was the perfect place to find books not only on that but on how to make the earliest of moto-bikes.

What about Stirling engines? There is a book in Lindsay publications that will allow you to build a Stirling engine that can be run from the heat of a human hand. What about steam engines? Multiple books on how to make steam cars, engines and other uses for steam. Explosives? Electroplating? Gotcha covered there as well.

What fascinates me the most about Lindsay books is the breadth of knowledge that can be found at one location. To be honest, with the internet, the amount of information available is staggering. But when you find so much knowledge in one place, you should latch onto it for dear life. Lindsay Publications is an information junkie's dream. With information from Lindsay Publications, you could literally build a shed, build all the equipment for a machine shop inside, and then put a car or a motorcycle together yourself, melted from scrap metal. Then, if you felt so inclined, you could then melt it all down and start over again.

So, if you are searching for informational technical books for yourself or for a friend, then Lindsay Publications at www.lindsaybks.com should be your first place to look and it may very well be all the information that you need.
