Colts I'm oh so loyal to you.
Got my blue beads,
my shirt with Peyton's name
gonna put em on
for the Superbowl game.
Going to have fun
and be with some friends
yell and cheer and whistle
till the Superbowl ends.
Too bad about the Saints
as a team they're fine,
unfortunately only one
can win, so it's gotta be mine
The Indianapolis Colts
are the city's proud possession
got something to celebrate and
forget the darn recession.
See the Colts fans screaming in a bar?
Never met before, but best friends by far.
Doing high fives, slapping each back
jumping and yelling with every sack
of the quarterback on that other team
the one the Colts intend to ream.
Lord, okay if I pray
you help the Colts win today?.
And keep all the players safe and strong
No injuries or calamities the whole game long.
Oh I know the Saints are your children too,
but only one team can win
so so let it be blue.
Woohoo!

Post a CommentPS. This really was a wonderful poem, with its heart in the right place. : )
Now, how come I didn't comment on this at the time? Oh yeah, I was busy writing my own snarky article about how lame the game is! *snickering!* (Sorry, pal...) But I have to say, Ms Lindy, your comment after the Saints won was very sweet & gracious. A real lady you are, & I'm proud to be your friend. Even if you are a sports nut! ; )
I used to live in Indiana and so I was rooting for the Colts, but alas it wasn't to be.
Alas, I was for the Colts too. Tony Dungy was a great loss as coach.
What fun! sorry we lost :(
Yeah, my hubby cheered for the Colts, but I kinda leaned towards the underdog. Glad New Awlins got their first trophy.
I felt sorry for Peyton Manning! This is more great writing, Linda!
They are a great team.
You're a great inspired fan.
So sorry the game didn't go your way, Linda. :(
