The words of the man spoke clearly above me
His kindness too much to bear
His smile lingered long after the speaking
His breath still burns my skin
Long after he left
I still see his eyes
As they turned to fury and rage
In my dreams and waking hour
He never left my mind
He lingers still to haunt my spirit
To devour what is left of my soul
The bruises have faded from the flesh
But the soul is damaged inside
