The newest rage in video entertainment is the Web Series. Watching television will eventually fall by the wayside as more and more people discover the advantages to watching programs online via the Internet.

Who needs programming with close to fifty-percent of the running time comprised of commercials? Who wouldn't appreciate being able to watch the programming you choose at the times and days you choose? Satellite, Cable, and TiVo...you may just have to start re-thinking the way you provide your customers their entertainment.

Recently, The International Academy of Web Television boasted nearly 200 web programs nominated for the second annual Streamy Awards. The winners and nominees were selected from a vast array of genres, including comedy, reality, sci-fi, mystery, and more. And don't think for one minute that web series programs are low quality or lacking in professionalism. Some of today's stars from well-known television and big-screen productions are turning up in webisodes of various types.

"Between Two Ferns", 2010s Streamy Award winner for Best Comedy Web Series, had top personalities such as Ben Stiller and Conan O'Brien appearing.

"Anyone But Me" star, Rachael Hip-Flores, won Best Female Actor in a Drama Web Series for her role as a lesbian teen torn between the girl she loves and her friends at a new school.

Best Visual Effects in a Web Series went to "Fear Clinic", starring Robert Englund.

And if animation is more your thing, you'll be pleased to know "theGoob" won Best Animation in a Web Series.

If you haven't taken a peek at all there is to offer in Web Series programming, consider doing so...you won't be disappointed!
