Installation was easy on my computer, in fact it was so easy that I didn't even have to use the CD and I have lost the CD since I hooked up the Linksys Rangerplus. Your wireless signal is protected by wireless encryption and there is a powerful firewall as well as a password you can put up to deter hackers from hacking into your connection. It has a much better range then wireless-G, I have been able to get a signal all the way down my block at my friends house about a quarter mile away. A lot of people like to steal band with these days, but with a network password and the wireless encryption you should feel pretty safe when it comes to those pesky free-loaders as well.
The Linksys Rangerplus usually sells for around $49.99 depending on where you can find one, I purchased mine for that price. It is used for my lap top as well as a network between my other other computers. There are very few dead spots and I get at least four bars all throughout my house, most of the time it gives me full bars and it's very fast, almost as fast as if it was plugged into the cable modem itself.
The router is very durable, it has been dropped many times off of my desk and has not been broken yet, it has even been accidentally stepped on and it still works as if it were brand new. It does not seem to be that prone to interference problems either.
In conclusion, the Linksys Rangerplus wireless router is a great router for a family at home with several lap top and desk top computers. I would not recommend this router in say an office however, because it only has the four ethernet ports and offices tend to network their computers a lot more. This is a very good router and I recommend it for your family or home computer network and wireless needs.
