Lip Gloss for Tween Girls

Janice Meyer
Tween girls - I would say that is approximately 8.5 through 12 years of age. My belief is that girls in this age bracket should, if at all possible, wear only light shades of lip gloss. That means no dark purples, dark reds or oranges.

There are several brands of lip gloss listed below that are priced under $5.00:

1. All Natural Lip Gloss for Girls, by Kissegirl on Etsy
Kissegirl is made especially for girls. It is a new series of body, bath and cosmetics. Also, it is better for young girls to use such products that are manufactured specifically for them than to use adult products.

Kissegirl Lip Gloss appears clear when applied, then it has a sparkle of glitter. It also tastes good in 14 delectable flavors, which are: Pineapple, cotton candy, Cherrylicious, Georgia Peach, Bubble Gum, Watermelon, Tango Mango, Sugar Rush, Grape, Strawberry, Tropical Smoothie, Banana, Buttercream and Cheesecake.

2. Yo Yo Lip Gloss

Yo Yo Lip Gloss tastes good and leaves a gentle soft color on the lips. Yo Yo Lip Gloss comes in the following colors: Cha Cha Chocolate, Mini Kissable Kiwi, Mini Big Bounce Bubblegum and Mini Girly Green Apple.

This Lip Gloss sells for $2.99. It is available at all good drug stores.

3. Jane Lip Gloss

Jane Lip Gloss comes in Satin-ribbon sorbet with a lasting finish - Number 426, Frosted - number 272 and Crush - number 202. All WarMart stores have it priced at $4.78.

4. NYC Liquid Lip Shine

NYC Liquid Lip Shine is clear and shiny, with a glow of pearl gems. It comes in Pink kiss and
Cappuccino.

There is also an NYC lipstick that I like to wear, since it comes in a pale pink, Chiffon. This product is priced at $1.86, and is available at all WalMart stores.

5. Kids Crafts - Recipe to make Lip Gloss for Girls

Materials:

Vegetable shortening, honey, unsweetened drink mix (Kool Aid) and hot water.
Instructions:

1. Mix one tbsp. of solid vegetable shortening, and one tsp. of honey. In a separate bowl,
mix the drink mix and 1/4 tsp. of hot water until drink mix dissolves. Stir in as much drink mix as possible. The actual amount will be according to the water temperature.. The more drink mix you can dissolve, the more flavor you will have.

2. Choose the color and flavor of your lip gloss by the type and flavor of the drink mix you use.

3. Add one drop of water rmixture to the shortening and honey base. Stir well. Repeat
until you have the color and flavor combination you want. Pour into a clean container or old lip gloss pot.

4. Store in the refrigerator. It will keep for three days.

This one, of course, is quite economical.

Lip Gloss is usually made from the following ingredients: glycerin, Aloe Vera, vitamin E and oil ingredients. The oil in lip gloss gives a shine to lips and added luster.

    Nice tips!

Good article! I don't believe in Tweens wearing darkly colored lipstick either. This tends to draw unwanted attention. They are too young to be flaunting anything in public.
