There are many benefits of green tea. One very important reason to drink green tea (or white tea, if you prefer) is for the antioxidants. Dr. Oz, of Oprah fame, lists the drinking of 4 cups of green or white tea as an important step in his anti-aging checklist.
Besides the benefits of the antioxidants found in green tea, Lipton also states that tea may be found to be effective (based on ongoing research) in areas such as reducing the risk of coronary heart disease, cutting the risks of certain types of cancers, strengthening our immune systems, reducing the growth of plaque on our teeth, and possibly causing the body to burn more calories
The Lipton Green Tea Mixed Berry flavor has 75 mg. of flavonoids antioxidants per serving. According to the graph on the box, this is more antioxidants per serving than you can get in orange juice or broccoli! Antioxidants help your body protect itself against molecules - called free radicals - that can cause damage to the cells of the body. This cell damage has been shown to be a factor in cancer and heart disease.
Lipton Green Tea teabags also come in a variety of other styles and flavors, including Green Tea with Citrus, 100% Natural, 100% Natural Decaf, Decaf Honey Lemon, Cranberry Pomegranate, Orange/Passionfruit & Jasmine, Mixed Berry, Mint, Lemon Ginseng, and Honey. There is also a Green Tea Collection box, which contains six varied flavors of green tea.
Lipton Green Tea Mixed Berry flavor has a light delicate hint of berries. According to the list of ingredients, it contains natural cherry, blueberry, raspberry and strawberry flavors. I only use 6-7 tea bags in my 1 gallon sun tea jar, which is less than recommended according to the directions on the side of the box, but it resulted in a light and delicious green tea. Use more or less teabags depending upon your preferred taste.
Although I am usually a person who sweetens their tea, I found the flavor of Lipton Green Tea Mixed Berry flavor to be delicious without sugar or artificial sweeteners. For an extra special treat, make fruit-flavored ice cubes from juices or blended fruit, add them to a chilled glass, and pour in this delicious green tea!
