Lisa Williams

Life Among the Dead or the Brain Dead?

Alyssa Branen
Have you ever hear of Lisa Williams? I hadn't either until my mom told me about how great her show is. Lisa Williams is a medium and clairvoyant. She was born in Birmingham, England. For those of you who do not know what a medium or clairvoyant is, here are the definitions taken from a dictionary website.

A medium is the ability of a person (the medium) to produce psychic phenomena of a mental or physical nature. In other words, communicating with the spirits of those passed on to the other side. Clairvoyant means form of extra-sensory perception or transference of information about an object, location or physical event is achieved through means other than the known human senses. A person said to have the ability of clairvoyance is referred to as a clairvoyant.

Lisa Williams stars in her own show on Lifetime Tv network. Her show is basically about how she goes about her day. She will go through two of her daily appointments at her office, then she will take a break where she rides around in her car and gets a coffee or some lunch and does a reading on the street for an unexpected person. Then she will normally go to someone's house to do a personal reading or visit a house that has a supposed spirit dwelling.

The big question is, do you believe in her? It's so hard to believe in this day and age of scripted reality television that there was no knowledge of anything in advance. However, it was pointed out to me that Lisa Williams was actually approached to do this show. She didn't go looking to be on television. Not to mention she has a big disclaimer at the end of the show stating specifically that no prior knowledge was given to her or her producers and that the producers did not influence anyone, in anyway whatsoever. This disclaimer is important, because people like John Edward have been accused of having producers and other people that work on the show work as spies and hide in the audience or wait in line outside the auditorium and try and get dirt on who wants to communicate with who. I've even read that John Edward's people have been caught outside the town hall of certain people's towns trying to dig up public known information on the people he is going to read. To me, this sounds false and pretty over the top. However, I don't know what is true and what is not true.

In my opinion, Lisa Williams seems very sincere and caring and not the type to be faking in any way. SOME of what she does may SLIGHTLY resemble a cold reading but I personally do not think that is what she is doing. There seems to be real emotion there, unlike Sylvia Brown who simply rolls her eyes at her guests and acts like they are beneath her. Sylvia has gotten a lot of flack of late for her wrong predictions. Most notably she told a family on the Montel show that their missing song was dead. Then a few months back he was found alive with another boy who had been kidnapped. However, that doesn't mean that she is never right. It just means she isn't ALWAYS right. I guess it's all about what your perception is on this type of thing. I myself am an Agnostic. This means that I am a skeptic but really WANT to believe. This includes god, ghosts, mediums, psychics, life after death, etc. I am skeptical about it all but want to believe in it all. So unlike an Atheist, my mind is open to believing IF I experience it for myself.

Lisa Williams is becoming more popular by the day, and her show was picked up for a second season, which recently started on Lifetime. You can catch her shows on Fridays at 9pm. You'll have to be the judge for yourself, but I think that Lisa pulls more details out of her had than Sylvia Browne does when she is giving a reading. It's a great show and I personally always need a tissue nearby because it always gets emotional.

Recently it's been brought up that Lisa William's grandmother

may have given psychic readings for the queen, and that Lisa herself has spoken to Princess Diana, Natalie Wood, Ray Charles, Bob Hope all after their death. Whether or not this is true remains unclear, but I want to believe it. Lisa is also a wife and mother to a son named Charles who was born in 2002.

I highly recommend her show to those who want to believe or are curious. Currently it is very very hard to get a reading with Lisa as she has grown extremely popular. However, if you check her website at

In a world of famous mediums such as Sylvia Browne, and John Edward, it's hard to tell who is really gifted and who is working the camera and using parlor tricks. Criss Angel Mind Freak did a show recently where he SEEMS to be communicating with the dead and possessed and it seemed SO real. However, it was just a mind trick and it was amazing how he did that. So it really makes you think. I think Lisa Williams may be the real deal, however I just can't say for sure unless I experience something that wows me. So Lisa Williams, Life Among the dead, or are we dead brained for beleiving and watching? What do you think?http://www.lisawilliamsmedium.com/ , you can find out when she will be doing an appearance near you.Frances Glazebrook

Lisa Williams claims of psychic abilities are nothing new. People keep falling for this kind of nonsense over and over again. Check out the Amazing Randi. He debunks people like her all the time.
