List of Famous Celebrities Who Stutter for King's Speech Fans

Famous celebrities who stutter draw more attention in the wake of "The King's Speech." Check this list of 10 big celebrities who succeeded despite stuttering.

Marilyn Monroe: I knew Moses stuttered, but Marilyn? Actually it makes sense when I think about her breathy speech. It sounds like it would be one method to try to manage stuttering.

James Earl Jones: It seems especially ironic that an actor whose career is so closely tied to his voice would have a speech impediment. Personally, I don't need to be told it's CNN but I love him as the voice of Darth Vader and in the "Lion King."

Tiger Woods: Tiger Woods has famously used "60 Minutes" and other opportunities to share how he worked to overcome a childhood stutter. He gives credit to his mother for her assistance, and describes how taking to his dog helped. Dogs have been proven to improve people's health and recovery from many conditions so I believe it.

Bruce Willis: Bruce Willis also had a childhood stutter and saw a therapist sort of like "The King's Speech." I know he's famous but I've never watched him in anything but "Pulp Fiction." Even the commercials for the whole "Die Harder" series made me wish it would die already and take the explosions with them.

Sam Neill: He told the British Stammering Association stuttering made him a better listener and faded as his confidence grew.

Harvey Keitel: He also overcame a childhood stutter.

Jimmy Stewart: Now I wonder if his drawl is associated with his slight stutter like Marilyn Monroe's breathiness.

Anthony Quinn: I didn't know he stuttered but I can assure you he's Mexican not Greek. After always thinking of him in the Zorba role, I saw "The Ox-Bow Incident" where he plays a Mexican character and it finally dawned on me.

B. B. King: I'm sorry he had to deal with stuttering but glad he had the company of several other legendary musicians with this condition including John Lee Hooker and Bill Withers.

Porky Pig: Now I don't know if Porky Pig is being insensitive or just being himself. It's probably the first stutter I ever heard and I never viewed it as ridiculing people.
