List of Music and Songs from NBC's Heroes

The Emotions of Heroes

Behind the action you will find what brings the scene to life. The music, without this vital part to every moment in every show the feelings that are to be impressed upon our minds are only shadows compared to the emotions brought on with the score. NBC's Heroes is no different. This show has two great composers that bring the feeling to what we see on the series. Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman both worked with Prince for a while and now own their own studio in which they compose the sounds we hear through out each episode.

The show opens with the Heroes theme, composed by Wendy and Lisa, and it is a deeply moving piece to get the viewer sucked into the show immediately. This theme can be heard at the opening of every episode, and when Suresh is placing the ashes of his father into the river back in India. They are also responsible for other scores found in the series such as Natural Selection, and Homecoming. These gifted composers definitely started the life that the following artists have brought to the show.

In the "Genesis" episode while Peter is waking up with Simone and Clair is returning home we hear the musical prowess of Rogue Wave. Their song 'Eyes' definitely makes the moments. This song is also played during the solar eclipse. Another song of mention from this episode is 'Kore Ga Watashi No Ikirumichi' by Puffy.

'Jatt Ho Giya Sharabe' by Punjabi MC is played when Hiro is caught fleeing from the comic book stand during the "Don't Look Back" episode. The next episode, "Six Months Ago" has a great song in it as well. Lily Alan performs her song 'Smile' while Nathan is arriving at Peter's party.

A few more great mentions for the Heroes musical prowess are 'I'm Confessin' by Liz Write (played while Matt and Janise are eating dinner), 'Weightless' by Nada Surf (on while Clair and West have their first kiss), and of course the music that NBC airs to promote their award winning Heroes. Four of the songs used to promote Heroes are 'Together' by Krystal Meyers, 'Nine in the afternoon' by Panic at the Disco, 'If everyone cared' by Nickelback, and 'Light up the Sky' by Yellowcard.

These songs were picked to help bring even more viewers to the Monday night show. During the commercials if someone hears catchy tunes, or just moving pieces of music they are more likely to be interested in watching the show. Keep that in mind the next time you think you are going to just skip the show.
